About This Role
Developing and modernizing applications is the core of this engineering job, leading the technical delivery of a project within a large and complex organization. The role suits an experienced Django Developer who enjoys owning delivery end to end, untangling legacy systems, and leaving behind something well-built and well-documented.

- Produce technical designs covering application components, data structures, interfaces, security controls, and alignment with organizational standards
- Configure existing functionality and develop approved enhancements to agreed coding, security, and accessibility standards
- Build and support system interfaces, including data mappings, validation, error handling, reconciliation, and integration testing
- Support data migration, transformation, validation, and reconciliation while maintaining data quality, integrity, privacy, and security
- Apply secure development practices, support technical governance assessments, and remediate in-scope security or compliance findings
- Prepare and execute technical testing, support UAT, resolve defects, and provide test evidence
- Support deployments across environments, including deployment, configuration, and rollback instructions aligned to release processes
- Support application environments, configuration settings, and deployment pipelines
- Diagnose and resolve defects and incidents within agreed timeframes, with root-cause analysis for significant issues
- Maintain technical designs, configuration details, interface specifications, operational procedures, and troubleshooting documentation
- Transfer knowledge to internal teams through documentation, walkthroughs, and training
- Support go-live, stabilization, hypercare, lessons learned, and transition to BAU
Requirements
- Strong, hands-on Django experience across design, development, integration, testing, and support of production applications
- Solid Python engineering background
- Comfortable working in Linux environments
- Experience using Docker for local development
- Designed and built, not just maintained, and can explain the decisions behind your work
- Confident working independently and communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
