About This Role
Developing scalable backend applications and real-time communication systems is the core of this role, focusing on Django, API development, and WebSockets. This position suits a developer with strong Python backend experience and a moderate exposure to frontend development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and Django
- Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs
- Build real-time applications using WebSockets and technologies such as Django Channels
- Implement real-time data streaming, notifications, live updates, and event-driven functionality
- Design secure APIs with authentication, authorization, validation, and error handling
- Integrate third-party APIs and external services
- Work with PostgreSQL / MySQL / SQL Server and optimize database queries
- Implement background processing using technologies such as Celery and Redis where required
- Debug, optimize, and improve application performance and reliability
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate APIs and real-time services
- Handle moderate frontend development using React.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Participate in deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of production applications
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Strong hands-on experience with Django and Django REST Framework (DRF)
- Strong understanding of REST API development and third-party API integration
- Strong experience with WebSockets / real-time communication
- Experience with Django Channels, Redis, or similar real-time technologies
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Understanding of JWT, OAuth, session-based authentication, and API security
- Good knowledge of Git and version control
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Basic to intermediate experience with React.js
- Good understanding of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Ability to consume REST APIs and WebSocket streams from frontend applications
