This is a supervisory position. As a Distribution Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Serves as the chief of the Light Distribution Division; plans, directs and supervises all activities of the division, which is responsible for one of the following operations: Shipping, Warehousing, Receiving, Consolidation and Containerization Process or Special Functions.
  • Directs the work of lower graded employees who perform work involved in receiving, handling, storing, maintaining while in storage, issuing, and physically controlling materials within a storage and distribution system.
  • Performs as primary technical authority in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Plans, establishes, and manages the most efficient and economical operations in accomplishing assigned functions.
  • Makes/recommends changes which have considerable impact on distribution operations.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Distribution Facilities Manager, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

  • Plans, establishes, and manages the most efficient and economical Inventory Accuracy and Accountability program.
  • Reviews and recommends system changes and coordinates system access requirements.
  • Provides guidance to subordinate supervisors on long and short range planning and work operations, quality and quantity of work expected.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, and abilities) in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of the distribution facilities and storage management functions.
  • Ability to plan and organize.
  • Knowledge of supervisory/managerial competencies including professionalism, leadership, teamwork, oral and written communication, strategic focus, responsibility and accountability, innovation and initiative, customer service and resource stewardship.
