Job Title: Distribution Planning Engineer
Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid – 3 days)
Duration: 12-Month Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $45-50/hr (Final Compensation will be dependent on skillset and experience)
Overview:
We are seeking a Distribution Planning Engineer to support a Fortune 500 utility company in Richmond, VA. This team focuses on electrical distribution infrastructure and planning efforts tied to delivering power to residential, commercial, and infrastructure customers.
Responsibilities:
- Support distribution planning and electrical infrastructure projects
- Perform engineering analysis, load calculations, and system planning activities
- Assist with reliability, capacity, and voltage-related evaluations
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and customers on multiple projects
- Support utility distribution design, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements
- Review drawings, technical documentation, and engineering standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in distribution engineering, power systems, utility infrastructure, or related electrical engineering work
- Experience with utility or power systems environments preferred
- Exposure to tools such as Synergi, ETAP, CYME, SCADA, GIS, or similar software is a plus
- Strong communication and coordination skills
