Disposal Manager- Collection Retail

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the disposal operations within the South Collections Retail department at Ujjivan Small Finance Bank. This role demands a strategic thinker with a strong background in managing asset recovery and disposal processes in the banking sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end disposal of non-performing assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing recovery rates, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to support the bank's financial health and customer service objectives. This position requires a proactive leader capable of driving process improvements, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining accurate records to support audit and reporting requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive disposal strategies for non-performing assets within the South Collections Retail portfolio to maximize recovery and minimize losses.
• Coordinate with internal collections teams and external vendors to ensure timely and compliant disposal of assets in accordance with regulatory guidelines and bank policies.
• Monitor and analyze disposal performance metrics, preparing detailed reports for senior management to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
• Ensure strict adherence to legal and regulatory requirements related to asset disposal, including documentation, approvals, and audit readiness.
• Lead negotiations with third-party agencies and buyers to secure favorable terms and optimize asset recovery values.
• Collaborate with risk management and compliance teams to identify potential risks in the disposal process and implement mitigation strategies.
• Train and mentor junior team members on disposal procedures, compliance standards, and best practices to build a high-performing team.
• Manage vendor relationships, including selection, performance evaluation, and contract management to ensure service quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Drive continuous process improvements by analyzing disposal workflows and implementing automation or system enhancements where applicable.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all disposal transactions and related documentation to support internal and external audits.

Minimum Requirements of Knowledge and Skills Educational Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in asset recovery, disposal management, or collections within the banking or financial services industry.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing asset disposal and recovery in the Indian banking sector.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale disposal operations and achieving recovery targets.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with banking software and asset management systems.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in team management and cross-functional collaboration.
