Role Description The Dispatcher in Cleveland, OH is responsible for coordinating and monitoring ambulance transportation services to ensure timely and efficient response to patient transport requests. This on-site role manages incoming calls, prioritizes and schedules trips, and communicates accurate information to field crews and healthcare partners. The Dispatcher uses dispatch software and communication systems to track units, update statuses, and resolve scheduling conflicts while maintaining compliance with company protocols and safety standards. The position also involves documenting activities, escalating issues as needed, and collaborating with supervisors and team members to support consistent, high-quality service.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and customer service skills, including clear telephone etiquette and the ability to convey information quickly and accurately.
- Proficiency with dispatch or scheduling software, basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office), and comfort working with multiple screens and systems.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize calls, manage competing demands, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, including sound judgment when handling urgent or complex situations.
- Ability to work on-site in Cleveland, OH, including evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts as required by a 24/7 operation.
- Knowledge of geographic areas and basic understanding of transportation logistics; prior dispatch, EMS, healthcare, or public safety experience is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in emergency dispatch, EMS, or related fields is a plus.
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and commitment to patient-focused service within a diverse and inclusive work environment.
