About This Role
Dispatching goods and materials efficiently is the core of this role, which involves coordinating with drivers, warehouse staff, and customers. The position suits a candidate with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills who can work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule the movement of goods and materials in a timely and efficient manner
- Communicate with drivers, warehouse personnel, and customers to ensure smooth operations
- Utilize supply chain management systems to track shipments and update information
- Answer incoming calls and provide assistance to drivers and customers regarding delivery status or any issues that may arise
- Perform data entry tasks to update shipment details and maintain accurate records
- Analyze transportation data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to optimize freight movement
Requirements
- Full knowledge of Flatbed and step-deck
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to make decisions and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Loadlink and dispatch software
- Previous experience as a dispatcher or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes
- Proficient typing skills for accurate data entry
- Knowledge of Loadlink or other transportation management systems is a plus
- Strong analytical skills to assess transportation data and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with drivers, warehouse personnel, and customers
- Understanding of freight operations and logistics processes
- 2 years of dispatching experience (preferred)
