Director - Security

About This Role

The Director of Security is accountable for the physical safety of patrons and team members, safeguarding assets, and protecting property from illegal activity within the casino environment. This role involves creating and following company policies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing a safe environment with outstanding guest service.

Responsibilities

• Build positive guest and team member relations
• Participate in and conduct departmental meetings
• Ensure consistent high-quality service to all team members and guests
• Set and maintain guest service standards and ensure team members perform those standards to achieve a favorable gaming experience for guests
• Plan, direct and coordinate all aspects of security for the property
• Satisfactorily complete assignable work requested by upper management
• Identify and immediately notify supervisors of any persons who require exclusion or ejection from the facility
• Ensure the security department complies with all applicable procedures, rules, regulations, and laws
• Keep abreast of crimes and trends with Gaming regulators and local law enforcement through establishment of mutual rapport
• Conduct internal investigations as needed, collaborating with other department leaders
• Develop, schedule, and implement all aspects of training for the Security Department
• Effectively manage, delegate duties, and oversee the performance and development of departmental team members
• Ensure all pertinent reports, logs, or other documents of the Security Department are properly prepared and submitted on a timely basis
• Conduct or coordinate follow-up reviews of accidents or illnesses as necessary
• Conduct safety and security inspections to identify problems and develop/implement solutions
• Hire, evaluate, and coach team members in the Security Department
• Coordinate emergency, safety, and security procedures with management
• Liaise with police, fire, or other governmental agencies as necessary
• Prepare and manage departmental budget on an ongoing basis
• Manage expenses based on budgeted guidelines and business volumes, including payroll and staffing levels
• Interact well with others and be a positive influence on team member morale
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 10 years of security experience within law enforcement or the gaming industry
• High School/GED, required
• 5 years of leadership experience within security or a similar industry
• Active Driver's License, required
• Ability to obtain and maintain state gaming license
