Director Quality

About This Role

Directing the quality verification program for Brightline West's high-speed rail project is the core of this role. The Director of Quality ensures that all specified quality standards and technical contract requirements are met and documented throughout the project's delivery. This position suits an experienced quality professional with a background in major design-build construction management, ideally with rail systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Comprehend and be fluent with project requirements, including plans, technical specifications, and contracts
• Understand micro and macro project objectives
• Review and approve the Contractor's Quality Management Program
• Develop, implement, and monitor the Quality Verification program to ensure compliance with FRA, DOTs, and Third-Parties requirements
• Outline the project delivery procedure to achieve Project Acceptance in accordance with Contract requirements
• Determine and examine the truth or accuracy of the Contractor’s Quality Validation processes
• Plan and conduct audits of quality processes, procedures, and activities
• Assure the Contractor's enforcement of sub-tier quality control programs for subcontractors, fabricators, and material suppliers
• Interpret specifications

Requirements

• BS Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management, or Engineering Technology, or demonstrated equivalent experience
• Broad knowledge of standards in the construction industry, including civil, rail, and building construction
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in quality management in the construction industry
• Minimum 5 years of major design-build construction management experience
• Must be a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California
• Prior experience in owner-side quality management on design-build projects
• Prior large-scale civil engineering experience, preferably including rail systems
• Demonstrated prior experience writing and administering quality control and validation programs
• Demonstrated ability to work within project team and to achieve project objectives
