Director, Quality

About This Role

This role involves leading and making decisions on the implementation of systems, programs, and strategic initiatives to improve system capability and operational excellence. The Director of Quality develops and aligns strategies, infrastructure, and budgets to achieve quality goals, overseeing initiatives, staff, budget, and vendor management to ensure continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the implementation of systems, programs, and strategic initiatives that advance system capability
• Develop and align strategies, initiatives, supporting infrastructure, and budgets
• Enable the system to achieve results that align with established quality imperatives to create and sustain operational excellence
• Communicate system objectives to staff to ensure understanding of quality goals and their alignment
• Oversee initiatives and operations, including staff, budget, and vendor management
• Measure effectiveness and take steps to ensure continuous improvement of system-wide performance
• Facilitate change to advance the organization
• Use resources and operational practices to drive execution of plans
• Ensure that policies, procedures, and practices are operationalized to support safe, reliable care and regulatory compliance
• Foster a continuous learning culture
• Be accountable for a positive organizational culture in decision making and performance management to influence work attitudes and enhance job satisfaction
• Have oversight of system quality programs such as infection prevention, regulatory compliance, performance improvement, and/or patient safety
• Function as a key liaison between the leadership teams, staff, and physician partners of the health care facility and programs

Requirements

• Master's Degree in nursing, public health, health care related, or education required
• 3 to 5 years of manager experience in healthcare quality, peer review, or performance improvement required

Nice to have:

• Certification in a related field (for example, CPHQ, Infection control, Lean)

Ambulatory Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of Ambulatory Quality and Population Health experience required
• Clinical certification (RN, PA, MD) required

Nice to have:

• Master's degree
