Director, Quality

About This Role

This role involves leading and implementing systems, programs, and strategic initiatives to advance quality, reduce risk, and foster a fair and just culture of safety across healthcare settings. The Director will develop strategies, manage budgets, and oversee operations to achieve established quality imperatives and operational excellence, ensuring policies and practices support safe, reliable care and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the implementation of systems, programs, and strategic initiatives that advance system capability
• Develop and align strategies, initiatives, supporting infrastructure, and budgets
• Communicate system objectives to staff to ensure understanding of quality goals and their alignment
• Oversee initiatives and operations, including staff, budget, and vendor management
• Measure effectiveness and take steps to ensure continuous improvement of system-wide performance
• Facilitate change to advance the organization and use resources and operational practices to drive execution of plans
• Ensure that policies, procedures, and practices are operationalized to support safe, reliable care, regulatory compliance, and foster a continuous learning culture
• Account for a positive organizational culture in decision-making and performance management to influence work attitudes and enhance job satisfaction
• Oversee system quality programs such as infection prevention, regulatory compliance, performance improvement, and/or patient safety
• Function as a key liaison between the leadership teams, staff, and physician partners of the health care facility and programs

Requirements

• Strong background in patient safety, including routine event reporting and causal analysis
• 3 years of related experience
• Demonstrated commitment to advancing quality, risk reduction, and a fair and just culture of safety across healthcare settings
• Master's Degree in nursing, public health, health care related, or education
• 3 to 5 years of manager experience in healthcare quality, peer review, or performance improvement

Nice to have:

• Certification in a related field (for example CPHQ, Infection control, Lean)
