About This Role
Directing the strategy and execution of Okta Privileged Access (OPA) is the core of this high-impact leadership role. The Director will be the overall owner of this key product area, bridging the gap between traditional enterprise security needs and the modern requirements of cloud infrastructure. This position suits a hands-on coach who can navigate high-level strategic planning with executives while mentoring a team of Product Managers through complex feature delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Product Managers, responsible for their professional growth, roadmap clarity, and day-to-day execution
- Define the multi-year vision for OPA, ensuring the company outpaces both legacy vault competitors and modern infrastructure-access startups
- Directly contribute to product specifications, technical architecture discussions, and customer-facing documentation when needed
- Identify opportunities to integrate PAM more deeply into the Okta Identity platform, driving "Zero Standing Privileges" as a standard for customers
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for PAM in high-stakes customer engagements and industry events (Oktane, RSA)
- Work closely with Engineering, UX, and Product Marketing to ensure the product built is both technically robust and easy to adopt
Requirements
- High-impact leadership role requiring a "hands-on coach"
- Deep experience in either "Traditional PAM" (e.g., CyberArk, BeyondTrust, Delinea) and/or "Modern Infrastructure" (e.g., HashiCorp, Teleport)
- 5+ years of experience managing Product Managers, with a proven ability to scale teams and foster a culture of technical excellence
- Ability to dive into the weeds of SSH, RDP, Kubernetes, or Secrets Management, understanding the "how" as much as the "why"
- 10+ years of total PM experience in the Security or Identity space
- History of shipping SaaS products at scale
- Ability to translate complex security concepts into a compelling narrative for both DevOps engineers and C-level executives
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
