Job Title: Nursing Director – Residential Living
Location : Miles City, MT 59301
Contract : 13 Weeks of contract (possibility of extension or convert to full time)
Schedule : Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (some flexibility with start/end times)
Setting : Residential Living / Long-Term Care / Skilled Nursing / Transitional Care
Pay Rate:
- Local: $90/hr on W2
- Travel: $3,750.76/Weekly Gross | Stipends: $1,240 included
Job Summary
The Nursing Director – Residential Living provides clinical, operational, and strategic leadership for a residential community providing long-term skilled nursing and short-term transitional care. This leader will oversee nursing operations, staff performance, patient care, financial goals, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement while partnering closely with executive leadership, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational direction for nursing and residential living services.
- Ensure nursing care is safe, efficient, effective, compassionate, and compliant with current standards of practice.
- Manage staffing needs, including recruitment, hiring, orientation, retention, scheduling, and employee engagement.
- Oversee department operating, capital, and personnel/FTE budgets and effectively manage resources.
- Lead clinical programs, protocols, quality initiatives, and ongoing process improvement.
- Monitor patient outcomes, satisfaction scores, and service metrics; develop action plans to improve performance.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, DOPL, and other applicable regulatory and accrediting requirements
- Evaluate staff competency through performance evaluations, peer reviews, and ongoing development.
- Partner with physicians, medical directors, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve clinical and operational goals.
- Foster a professional, collaborative, and patient-centered work environment.
- Mentor and develop nursing leaders and staff.
- Promote employee participation in community organizations, health fairs, volunteer clinics, and other outreach activities.
Required Qualifications
- RN License (MT or compact license)
- 3+ years of management/leadership experience – REQUIRED
- 2+ years of clinical nursing experience
