About This Role
Leading and developing logistics operations is the core of this senior leadership role, ensuring operational efficiency, cost optimisation, and continuous improvement across the organisation. The role combines operational leadership with strategic planning, focusing on logistics performance, budget management, team development, and the implementation of process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee logistics operations, including warehousing, distribution, transportation, and customs processes
- Ensure efficient day-to-day warehouse and transport operations in line with agreed service levels and business objectives
- Manage the logistics budget, monitor operational costs, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
- Oversee warehouse capacity planning and transportation resource allocation in alignment with business needs
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise logistics processes, productivity, and operational performance
- Lead the implementation of new systems, processes, and operational standards
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, health and safety requirements, and internal policies
- Oversee customs compliance and ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements
- Lead, develop, and mentor logistics teams, fostering collaboration and accountability across functions
- Contribute to business planning, investment decisions, and budget development
- Participate in the planning and development of logistics facilities and infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align logistics operations with overall business objectives
Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in logistics operations, including leadership responsibilities across warehousing and transportation
- University degree in Logistics, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in leading teams and managing operational functions
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, transportation management, logistics costs, and budgeting
- Experience in implementing process improvements and operational transformation initiatives
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Proven ability to make decisions, manage change, and prioritise effectively in a dynamic business environment
- Fluent English
