Director of Finance

About This Role

Directing the finance function for a hotel, this role involves managing accounting records and financial reports while ensuring compliance with various requirements. The Director of Finance oversees all financial operations, aligning them with strategic goals to optimize profitability and operational performance, and acts as a trusted financial advisor to hotel leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hotel Finance function, managing day-to-day operations and ensuring effective controls, processes, and service delivery
• Drive financial strategy, overseeing all financial operations to optimize profitability and operational performance
• Oversee financial planning and analysis, leading the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans
• Advise hotel leadership, serving as a trusted financial advisor to strengthen financial performance and maximize business value
• Ensure accurate financial reporting, overseeing the timely and accurate preparation of month-end financial reports
• Ensure financial compliance, upholding adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and safeguarding hotel assets
• Maintain compliance and financial controls, ensuring adherence to Hilton accounting policies and standards
• Monitor and approve financial transactions, overseeing and authorizing hotel sales, purchases, salaries, and expenses
• Drive process improvement, continuously reviewing financial systems, reporting processes, and controls
• Cultivate a high-performing team, driving engagement and retention through performance management, professional development, and recognition programs

Requirements

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in hotel finance, including 3+ years in a leadership role
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Proficient in hotel systems such as OnQ, Check SCM, NAV/SUN, OPERA/OnQ PMS, MICROS, HRLINK
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Deep understanding of financial controls, compliance, and reporting standards
• Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate across departments
