Job Description Switchfly builds the loyalty and travel booking platform behind some of the world's largest airlines and financial institutions. We are seeking a leader who can see where travel and loyalty are heading as AI-driven discovery, conversational commerce, and new ecosystem models reshape them, and who can build toward that future while delivering in the present.
Responsibilities
- Own the product outcomes for your teams, not just their delivery. Define success, set clear OKRs, and hold teams to business results rather than sprint velocity.
- Drive AI on two fronts: as a product capability and as a development practice. Shape the vision for AI-powered platform features and partner with advocates to scale agentic coding adoption within a PCI Level 1-compliant SDLC.
- Actively direct the data science team. Stay hands-on and steer the team toward data and model capabilities that power AI-native commerce features.
- Act as servant leader to cross-functional agile teams, with responsibility to mentor, manage, and lead direct reports.
- Coach Product Owners to grow from backlog managers into outcome-oriented thinkers.
- Identify, mentor, and grow senior development leads into development managers.
- Work across the business, including executive leadership and clients, translating strategic intent into engineering scope.
- Guide personal and career development of team members.
- Ensure teams work together and foster a culture of learning, trust, and bravery.
About You
- 5+ years leading software engineering teams in Agile delivery environments, with a track record of owning outcomes.
- Hands-on experience driving AI-assisted and agentic development adoption at team or company scale, including security guardrails, policy definition, and cultural resistance.
- Foundation in software development with the ability to challenge architectural decisions and earn respect of experienced developers. Frontend expertise (customer-facing shopping experience) preferred.
- Experience operating in a regulated compliance environment such as PCI DSS or SOC 2.
- Understanding of B2B2C business models where client, end user, and platform commercial model must all win.
- Comfortable owning product direction and partnering with Product Owners.
- Delegates effectively and is detail-oriented when required.
- Inquisitive, eager to learn, and brings an outside perspective.
- Innovative, action-oriented energy with the maturity to operate within a complex, regulated enterprise platform.
- Inspires colleagues to follow your lead.
About The Technology Cloud-native on AWS, with React and Ember.js frontend, JVM and Python backend, and Snowflake data warehouse, all within a PCI Level 1-compliant SDLC. Deep expertise across all is not expected.
