About the role
- On-site (multiple locations—refer to Requirements)
- W2 Employee
Families who select Alpha have trusted advisors embedded across every aspect of their lives. This is the relationship they haven't had—until now.
You will become the person they reach out to when uncertainty arises, when something doesn't sit right, or when they want to share a milestone they know you'll appreciate. You'll understand each family deeply enough to recognize their needs before they articulate them—and you'll possess the judgment and composure to address what they bring you with care, warmth, and seamless professionalism. Over time, you won't simply be associated with their child's education. You'll be woven into the way they experience this formative period in their family's journey.
That level of trust isn't engineered through procedures. It's cultivated through presence—daily, reliable, and unhurried. You'll be on-site during morning arrival and afternoon departure, at the evening gatherings that hold meaning, and in the spontaneous one-on-one exchanges that never appear on a schedule. You'll shape a community that families feel invested in protecting, where a sense of belonging comes naturally and word-of-mouth referrals emerge because the experience justifies them.
Alpha operates outside the traditional school framework. Students complete their core academics in two hours daily via AI-driven applications, then dedicate the remainder of their time to public speaking, critical reasoning, and applied projects. No lectures. No redundant assignments. Top 1% outcomes nationally. The families who commit to it are investing in something they value deeply—but conviction requires ongoing stewardship.
You'll sustain that dialogue with every family, through every moment of uncertainty, for the entire duration of their child's enrollment. If advocating for an unconventional approach to discerning skeptics feels taxing, this position won't suit you. If it sounds like the most compelling conversation you could be leading, continue reading.
What You Will Be Doing
- Take ownership of the relationship with every family at your campus—the sustained, evolving relationship that ensures parents feel understood, not simply attended to
- Foresee concerns before they surface as issues, and address them with the tact and interpersonal skill that preserves confidence
- Maintain visible presence in the spaces families occupy: morning arrivals (7–9am), afternoon departures (2–4pm), evening parent gatherings, and occasional weekend programming
- Develop a campus culture with authentic depth—rituals, events, and touchpoints that give families the sense they're part of something valuable and worth safeguarding
- Foster parent advocacy naturally, engineering experiences of such consistent quality that referrals emerge as an organic result
- Sustain the ongoing dialogue about Alpha's AI-enabled approach with families managing screen time concerns, skeptical relatives, and periods of uncertainty—not only during enrollment, but continuously throughout their campus tenure
- Recognize when a family is not aligned with the community and manage that transition with the same thoughtfulness you apply everywhere else—protecting the community is integral to serving it
- Establish the systems and routines this position demands in a setting where the framework is still evolving
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Overseeing enrollment—that belongs to the Admissions Director; your work commences when families become part of the community and expands from there
- Remaining desk-bound—your physical presence within the community defines the role
- Adhering to standard 9–5 schedules—early mornings, late afternoons, and evening commitments are inherent to the position, not occasional demands
- Relying on administrative infrastructure, established protocols, or a built-out team—you function with significant autonomy and construct what's necessary
- Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role rewards authentic connection, not procedural adherence
Director Of Community Engagement Key Responsibilities Serve as the central trusted relationship within every family's Alpha experience. Maintain their confidence through challenging moments, cultivate a community where belonging feels meaningful, and establish the environment in which satisfied families naturally become active advocates.
Basic Requirements
- Currently live within commuting range of one of these locations OR prepared to relocate within 60 days (preference given to candidates with existing local community ties): Denver, CO; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Tampa, FL; Boston, MA; Bethesda, MD; Charlotte, NC; Las Vegas, NV; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Dallas (Carrollton), TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston (The Woodlands), TX; Park City, UT; Burlington, VT; Kirkland, WA; or Jackson Hole, WY
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
- 5+ years in a relationship-centered role serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families—contexts such as private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropy, or environments where discretion, warmth, and interpersonal intelligence were as critical as competence
- Proven capacity to maintain relationships through challenging moments with sophisticated families and exit with trust strengthened
- Authentic presence and communication approach that establishes credibility quickly with affluent, high-expectation families—polished in a way that feels genuine, not rehearsed
- Personal experience with independent, private, or alternative education—either professionally or as a parent—that provides you credible perspective when families challenge the model
- Authentic conviction in AI-enabled education and the capacity to carry that belief genuinely through years of parent engagement, not solely during the enrollment phase
- Availability for nontraditional hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening functions 2–3 times monthly, and occasional weekend activities
Nice-to-have Requirements Exceptional candidates will possess at least one of the following:
- Established connections within the local affluent community that would provide you immediate, organic credibility on campus
- Private or independent school background with demonstrated success in family retention and community cohesion—not merely enrollment metrics
- Experience managing high-stakes family dynamics where your judgment and discretion were the foundation of sustained trust
- A natural talent for designing experiences—gatherings, moments, settings—where people sense they belong to something meaningful and protective
- Prior startup or early-stage involvement where you built infrastructure from scratch and maintained composure amid rapid change
