Overview
We are seeking a Director of Development Finance to lead the financial management of television development activities. This role oversees budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, development accounting, financial reporting, and contract administration while partnering closely with Business Affairs, Creative, Production Finance, Planning, and Financial Reporting. The Director will also supervise a Senior Financial Analyst.
Responsibilities
- Manage all financial aspects of development accounting for PTVS including budgeting, cash flow, cost tracking, and variance analysis
- Review term deal and development deal memos and contracts for updates to financial and contractual information in SAP
- Review and issue development commitment reports for management
- Partner with Production Finance and Creative teams to track recoupment of term deal guarantees
- Prepare quarterly budgets and cash commitment estimates
- Support quarterly expense forecasting
- Manage billing for coverage, co-development, and penalty charges
- Review term deal overhead allocations
- Determine initial spend dates to ensure accurate development expense recognition
- Review quarterly reconciliation of BW reports to SAP
- Coordinate quarterly internal and external audit requests
- Maintain SAP Purchasing Groups and approval workflows
- Supervise the PTVS Senior Financial Analyst
- Review and approve travel authorizations and monthly travel expenses
- Review payment requests, overhead allocations, guarantee payments, and journal entries
- Prepare quarterly corporate reporting schedules including Balance Sheet deck, 10K/10Q contractual obligations, and Cadency reconciliations
- Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10 to 15+ years of accounting or finance leadership experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and development accounting
- Experience supervising finance staff
- SAP and BW experience preferred
- Film or television finance experience preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ownership mentality
