Directing the delivery of technical solutions for clients and market needs across Asia is the core of this senior leadership role, shaping Citi's Prime Growth agenda and propelling its Equities business. This role is at the forefront of innovation, translating complex market demands into cutting-edge technical strategies and engaging directly with senior stakeholders to champion Prime Finance initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Forge critical partnerships with local product and trading teams to uncover and fulfill the unique business demands of Asian markets
- Act as the voice of Asia, articulating its Equity Finance and Prime Finance strategy to global leadership
- Collaborate seamlessly with Risk, Controls, and Operations, embedding robust compliance and upholding the highest regulatory and internal policy standards
- Spearhead rapid, cutting-edge technical solutions bespoke to Asia's unique client and market dynamics, directly shaping and catapulting the Prime Growth agenda
- Leverage hands-on engineering expertise using Java, Python, and event-based processing to deliver top-tier technical solutions
- Collaborate closely with global technical leads to ensure solutions comply with platform standards and set new benchmarks for innovation, always guiding near-term efforts towards strategic long-term vision
- Spearhead the integration of AI development practices and tools to dramatically boost delivery speed, efficiency, and intelligence across technical solutions
- Champion technological enhancements and automation initiatives, relentlessly pursuing operational efficiency, superior client service, and a competitive edge
- Manage senior stakeholder communication for Prime Finance, providing direct face-off to senior leads across the region
- Coordinate closely with global technical leads
- Represent the APAC Equity Finance business in various internal and external forums
- Ensure transparent and effective communication regarding business performance, strategic initiatives, and market developments
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of developers locally
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and support career development for team members
- Attract, develop, and retain top engineering and leadership talent; actively manage succession and capability depth
Requirements
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in Equity Finance or Prime Brokerage, with experience in a leadership position
- Extensive knowledge of securities lending, repo, synthetic equity products, and prime brokerage
- Strong background in engineering using Java, Python, and AI technologies to advance rapid development
