About This Role
Working with the art department team, the Production Artist will use their technical and computer skills and color knowledge to manage artwork at the pre-production stage. This involves a variety of graphic art and print production tasks, including preparing artwork files, building print-ready files, and managing digital assets. This position reports to the Art Department Manager.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation of artwork files, layout and sizing, color and logo placement with the art director and prepress director
- Follow through the print production process by preparing graphic and textile artwork files for printing and releasing files to outside vendors
- Use expertise in color and computer applications to finalize graphic and textile designs and production callouts
- Perform technical duties including scaling, graphic and print file color separation, repeating all over textile artwork and cleaning artwork files
- Oversee preparation of artwork files, layout and sizing, color callouts, and printing technique callouts of time-sensitive communication materials
- Maintain open communication and working relationships with cross-functional partners including design and product development
- Perform other graphic design-related duties as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional digital printing production role
- Expert level proficiency in Adobe CS Illustrator as the main tool
- Well-rounded knowledge of various printing techniques
- Fully understand the pre-production process including knowledge of artwork file preparation for print
- Strong commitment to ensuring quality and exceeding designer and merchant satisfaction expectations
- Demonstrate excellence in interpersonal skills, especially in situations involving consensus and team building with strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills including the ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback, and be a solid verbal and written communicator
- Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
- Adaptive to change and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skill in English, required for daily communication and collaboration with overseas departments, the art director, and other staff members
