Digital Podcast Producer

About This Role

This Austin-based role is at the heart of the production team, supporting top podcasters and business owners by delivering creative content, finalizing episodes, and handling day-to-day production tasks. The position suits a creative, organized, and detail-oriented producer who can bring content to life through expert storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Perform final content edits on episodes in Descript, adding intros and outros, completing final exports, and uploading to the podcast hosting provider
• Write engaging, story-driven show notes and sponsorship messages that align with client brand guidelines and tone of voice to drive engagement and downloads
• Create clear, compelling titles that align with story-driven show notes and unique episode trailers
• Create thumbnail titles for short-form video clips selected from the episode
• Select 2 short-form video clips from each episode and complete a rough edit for video editors
• Select highlights from each episode to create a unique 30-second episode trailer
• Maintain and update production schedules, regularly tracking tasks from recording to publishing
• Schedule episodes and run QA checks
• Work closely with the Executive Producer and other team members to manage and adhere to production schedules
• Collaborate with guest outreach, creative teams, and the social media department to ensure timely delivery of assets
• Provide sound check support when the Executive Producer is unavailable to ensure excellent audio and video quality of podcast recordings
• Communicate enthusiastically and promptly with clients and team members through Slack and email, maintaining high standards for clarity and syntax
• Finalize the production of up to 6 podcast episodes each week including content editing, show notes, titles, and short-form video selections
• Create compelling, story-centered content, including trailers, show notes, and episode titles that align around a clear story-theme for each episode
• Create rough cuts of 2 short-form videos from the best highlights of each episode following a clear hook, story, and conclusion format
• Maintain the accuracy of production boards daily by updating the status of all deliverables as they’re completed

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in podcasting or related industries
• Resides in Austin, Texas
• High standards: Goes the extra mile to make deliverables as good as they can be
• Basic Audio Engineering Skills: Must be able to tell the difference between good and bad audio/video quality, and spot and fix common recording issues
• Organized: Plans, organizes, and schedules tasks in an efficient, productive manner; focuses on key priorities; able to manage many deliverables simultaneously and meet deadlines
