Duties

Effectively plans, coordinates and evaluates a team including a Graphic Designer and Web Developer. Coordinates digital marketing activities in collaboration with other MCCS division managers. Has full delegation authority of assigned Designers and Web Developers. Responsible for the development and execution of all MCCS Digital Marketing material on social, web, and digital platforms. Provides leadership and direction for the Digital Marketing team, setting an effective marketing plan and ensuring performance goals are set and met. Serves as a mentor, coach and guide to the Digital Marketing staff. Provides guidance in business development and marketing activities.

Responsible for planning, directing, initiating, and implementing a comprehensive digital marketing strategy in support of a variety of MCCS program functions. Utilizes multiple communication methods and techniques, to include oral, written, visual, and personal media for the purpose of informing the general public about the programs, services, special events and policies sponsored by or affiliated with MCCS operations. Must have a strong knowledge in using and administering Facebook Pages, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and WordPress. Must be able to shoot and edit video / photography for posting in real time utilizing an iPhone. Develops and utilizes a variety of marketing plans and concepts designed to enhance awareness and utilization of MCCS facilities and services. Oversees content, and design within brand standards on multiple websites and social media accounts, develops content for multiple digital marketing platforms like electronic marquees and digital signage. Responds to customer service inquiries on social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and others, sometimes outside of normal business hours. Organize and track web / social analytics. Provides comprehensive after action campaign reports to analyze campaign results. Assists in communication and promotional requirements, which may include vlogging, photography, and other public relations activities for the Division. Initiates and prepares routine correspondence such as memoranda, and messages using a PC / Mac / Smart Phone and various software. May assist in the preparation of financial plans and related records and/or reports. Personally responds to routine telephone inquiries and routine email. Assists with the coordination of MCCS publicity through multiple digital platforms.

Prepares internal office financial plans and related records and reports, and exercises authority on approved budget. Monitors programs on a regular basis, and initiates corrective action to ensure support of operating programs of MCCS. Develops long range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action. Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, and other environmental issues and programs. Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.

Provides Extraordinary Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of four years related background with supervisory skills that demonstrates experience directly related to the above duties. Strong computer and social media skills. Demonstrated experience in the use of a variety of informational marketing and media methods such as graphic arts, design, illustration, photography, computers, live streaming, etc. Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Must possess solid organizational and detail-oriented expertise and the ability to handle numerous projects at one time. Must be skilled in using a variety of communication and informational media methods and techniques to stimulate interest of a variety of publics, which have different levels of understanding. Must be able to identify the characteristics of target audiences and determine the most effective, sources, methods, and techniques to use in reaching patrons. Ability to analyze the results of information gathering techniques, surveys, inquiries, etc. to improve upon existing systems. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
