About the role
Summary Marcom is the creatively-led global team that oversees Apple’s consumer facing marketing. We ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications across all medias and platforms. Every day, hundreds of millions of Apple customers around the world interact with our products. We drive the strategy and creative work that provide both new and existing customers with simple, engaging and inspiring marketing experiences.
Our Interactive team strikes a balance between big-picture thinking and meticulous attention to detail. We are looking for an exceptional Digital Localization Producer who is both a strategic leader and a collaborative partner - someone who can navigate complexity, lead high-performing teams, embrace emerging technologies to drive smarter ways of working, and help shape the future of Apple's digital presence in Japan.
Description The Digital Localization Producer is responsible for overseeing the localization of Apple's global marketing websites and email communications for the Japanese market. This role goes beyond delivery, driving the strategic prioritization of concurrent projects and determining how work is assigned to project leads to ensure optimal resource allocation and flawless execution.
Central to this role is direct ownership of evolving localization practices within an increasingly automated production environment. This role also contributes to WW-led operational optimization - process improvements, tools evaluation, and platform enhancements, and supports local process analysis that informs automation decisions.
Executional excellence and an uncompromising attention to detail are fundamental to upholding Apple Marketing standards.
Responsibilities
- Direct project leads to deliver flawless localization across global marketing websites and email communications, covering global product launches, seasonal campaigns, corporate initiatives, and sustain projects
- Strategically prioritize concurrent projects in real time, making deliberate decisions on how and when work is assigned to project leads, managing risk and resources while navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities with clarity
- Navigate complex matrixed organizations, keeping relevant stakeholders continuously updated and independently negotiating alignment with WW stakeholders
- Contribute to localization platform evolution, including requirements gathering and providing localization and market-specific insights. Lead the rollout of new platforms to enable production scalability and efficiencies
- Contribute to operational optimization across the localization workflow. Champion AI-automated processes, drive WW-led improvement initiatives, and support local process analysis that informs automation decisions
- Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with creative, development, and cross-functional teams across Japan and WW, and independently negotiate and represent Japan's market perspective in negotiations with WW counterparts and local cross-functional producers at a project level
- Direct and hold accountable a team of vendor-based project leads across external agency partners, overseeing budget adherence, resource allocation, deliverable quality, and ongoing upskilling to meet the highest standards of project delivery
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Business level proficiency in Japanese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills in both languages
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in a leading digital creative agency, in-house marketing communications, or digital marketing department with strong knowledge of modern website management including responsive design, design frameworks, release operations, and accessibility
- Experience directing external agency partners or vendor teams
- Practical experience working within AI-enabled or automated production workflows, with the ability to adopt, champion, and provide feedback on AI tools
- Strong attention to detail with a design sensibility. Able to spot UI inconsistencies and ensure deliverables meet Apple standards. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities
- Flexibility to work during non-business hours as needed and ability to travel abroad
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated track record of strategic leadership in project delivery, with excellent project and time management skills to prioritize and deliver complex programs in fast-paced, ambiguous environments under tight deadlines
- Experience with data-informed decision making, using analytics, KPIs, or performance data to prioritize work and propose improvements
- Exceptional relationship-building and collaboration skills, with an ability to work closely across creative, development, and cross-functional teams to solve problems and drive results
- Experience leading large-scale localization or digital marketing projects, including website builds and digital campaigns
- Hands-on experience with large-scale corporate digital platforms using enterprise-level content management systems, including contributing to CMS requirements gathering and platform rollouts
- Technical curiosity. A working knowledge of technologies behind websites (HTML/CSS/JS), comfort communicating with developer/technology SMEs, and ability to troubleshoot basic web issues aided by AI or web search
