About This Role
This role involves providing safe, efficient, and compassionate dialysis care by preparing and operating equipment, monitoring patients throughout treatment, and supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality renal care. The technician ensures patient safety and compliance with hospital protocols.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, inspect, and set up dialysis machines and equipment prior to each treatment session
- Assess and prepare patients for dialysis as per prescribed clinical protocols
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition before, during, and after dialysis treatment
- Identify and promptly report any complications or abnormalities to the Nephrologist and Nursing Team
- Maintain accurate patient records, treatment documentation, and dialysis logs
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards
- Perform routine cleaning, disinfection, and basic maintenance of dialysis machines and related equipment
- Maintain adequate stock of dialysis consumables and coordinate replenishment as required
- Educate patients and caregivers on dialysis procedures, post-treatment care, and necessary precautions
- Assist in medical emergencies and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) when required
- Coordinate with IPD veterinary doctors, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals for inpatient dialysis procedures
- Adhere to hospital policies, NABH standards, and all applicable regulatory guidelines
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and departmental training programs
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a dialysis unit for Technician roles
- Knowledge of hemodialysis procedures and equipment
- Patient monitoring and clinical observation skills
- Infection control and biomedical waste management
- Basic Life Support (BLS) knowledge
- Good communication and patient-care skills
- Ability to work in shifts and handle emergencies
- Diploma / Certificate in Dialysis Technology from a recognized institution
- Valid certification as applicable under local regulations
