About This Role
This full-time role in the Dialysis Unit of RBM Hospital involves operating and maintaining dialysis equipment, preparing and monitoring patients during treatment, and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities
- Prepare dialysis machines, dialyzers, and related equipment before each procedure
- Assess and prepare patients for dialysis under the supervision of the treating physician
- Monitor vital signs and patient condition before, during, and after dialysis
- Operate dialysis equipment safely according to prescribed treatment plans
- Maintain proper aseptic techniques and infection prevention standards
- Ensure appropriate handling and disposal of biomedical waste
- Monitor dialysis parameters and promptly report any abnormalities or complications to the treating physician
- Maintain accurate patient treatment records, machine logs, and documentation
- Perform routine cleaning, disinfection, and basic maintenance of dialysis equipment
- Check water treatment systems and ensure compliance with applicable quality standards
- Assist the medical team during emergencies and follow established emergency protocols
- Educate patients and their attendants about dialysis procedures and basic care instructions, as appropriate
- Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, and patient confidentiality requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a dialysis unit
- Diploma, certificate, or degree in Dialysis Technology from a recognized institution
- Good technical knowledge of dialysis machines and procedures
- Strong patient care and communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Ability to work effectively in a clinical team
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during emergencies
