About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining CI/CD build pipelines for our simulation software across multiple generations. Your expertise will be pivotal in developing and optimizing our proprietary monitoring tools to ensure the smooth operation of simulation systems. You will actively lead the implementation and enhancement of virtualization and automation solutions, ensuring high availability and continuous development of internal IT systems and tools. The position involves defining system requirements, developing architectures and designs, and ensuring platform scalability and stability. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to lead a team of 7 to 9 professionals, fostering their development through mentoring and performance management. You will also coordinate cross-departmental collaboration, oversee quality assurance, and ensure timely delivery of projects. Your role is critical in maintaining the operational excellence and technological advancement of our simulation infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Successfully completed a degree in a natural sciences field or an equivalent qualification
  • Extensive experience in DevOps, CI/CD, virtualization, and IT system/server administration
  • Proficiency in automating system installations, configurations, software deployment, and monitoring
  • Deep understanding of DevOps processes and experience in process optimization
  • Knowledge of technical architecture standards, system and software architecture of complex IT or simulation systems
  • Proficient in GitLab, Artifactory, Docker, Jenkins, Hyper-V, VMware, Windows, and Linux environments
  • Skills in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, and experience with Grafana
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication, conflict resolution, time management, and assertiveness skills
  • Fluent in German and English, with willingness to undertake national and international travel

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for simulation software spanning multiple generations
  • Continuously develop and optimize proprietary monitoring tools for simulation systems
  • Lead the introduction and enhancement of virtualization and automation solutions
  • Ensure the smooth operation, availability, and ongoing development of internal IT systems and tools
  • Define system requirements, develop architectures, and ensure platform scalability and stability
  • Potentially lead and mentor a team of 7 to 9 employees, fostering their professional growth
  • Plan, facilitate, and review sprint planning and sprint reviews to meet project goals
  • Coordinate collaboration between departments, oversee quality, and ensure timely project execution
