About This Role
This Senior DevOps Engineer role focuses on building and managing CI/CD pipelines, working with stakeholders across the UK and Poland. It requires hands-on expertise in Ansible and on-premises DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard tools and best practices
- Manage and optimize source code repositories (Git), including branching and merge strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based, etc.)
- Configure and maintain build and dependency management using Maven (or similar tools)
- Integrate and manage code quality and security scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, SAST/DAST) as part of DevSecOps
- Containerize applications using Docker and manage container orchestration with Kubernetes
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Groovy, and Python for build, deployment, and operational tasks
- Implement and support observability solutions using Prometheus, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), and OpenTelemetry
- Collaborate with release management teams to plan, coordinate, and execute application releases across environments
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in build, deployment, and production environments
- Contribute to continuous improvement of release processes, toolchains, and operational runbooks
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience and hands-on expertise in DevOps
- Systems administration: RedHat Linux
- Infrastructure-as-code: Ansible, Puppet, Terraform
- Container orchestration: Kubernetes experience
- Observability: ELK, Prometheus, ITRS
- Database: Oracle, Cassandra, Hazelcast, Postgres
- DevOps: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GIT, Maven, Docker, Rundeck
- Messaging: Kafka, Active MQ, iMFT, FileID
- Programming in either Python, Perl, PowerShell, Bash, Java, AngularJS, or Spring
