Development Engineer On-board Network and Wiring Harness Development

About This Role

This development engineer role focuses on the on-board network and wiring harness for commercial vehicles and mobile machinery. The work involves optimizing architectures, designing future-proof cable systems, and integrating electrical components while coordinating with various departments and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize on-board network and wiring harness architectures for commercial vehicles and mobile working machines
• Conceive future-proof cable harness systems considering functionality, installation space, manufacturability, and maintainability
• Create and maintain circuit diagrams, wiring harnesses, and on-board network structures
• Integrate electrical components into existing and new vehicle architectures
• Coordinate with design, electrical engineering, testing, purchasing, production, and suppliers
• Support prototype construction, commissioning, and validation
• Implement change scopes throughout the entire development process
• Collaborate on the further development of modern vehicle and on-board network concepts

Requirements

• Successfully completed studies in electrical engineering, vehicle engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable technical education
• Several years of experience in on-board network, wiring harness, or cable harness development
• Experience in the field of commercial vehicles, agricultural machinery, construction machinery, or mobile working machines
• Good knowledge of low-voltage (LV) on-board networks
• Experience in developing cable harnesses, on-board network architectures, or wiring harness systems
• Experience with at least one of the following systems:
• E3
• LDorado
• Mentor Capital / CHS
• EPLAN Harness
• Comparable on-board network and wiring harness tools
• Knowledge of change management and collaboration with development, testing, and production departments
• Structured way of working and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
