About the role

Role & responsibilities

Engineering Management

  • Preparing & maintaining Document/Drawing Submission Plan in line with the Construction Schedule.
  • Ensure timely submission of Documents/Drawings for approval.
  • Ensure that all documents are prepared as per the Quality Management System.
  • Monitor the construction item quantities. Technical discussion with Design Engineers for quantity optimization.
  • Communicate design updates and revisions to the construction team.
  • Check for any deviations from the design or issues that need to be addressed in the plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of design changes, approvals, and issues encountered on-site.
  • Data compilation and preparation of Monthly Design Progress Report. Provide regular progress reports to clients, senior management, and project stakeholders.
  • Manage design operations to meet project milestones and fulfil the customer expectations.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including the customers and government departments.
  • Participating in project review meetings to discuss design issues, resolve conflicts, make decisions on design adaptations and record Minutes.
  • Record all communications between office and site for future reference.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless coordination.

Site Team Engagement

  • Address any challenges or obstacles that arise on-site, proposing adjustments to the design, when necessary, after discussion within a team.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a diverse team, including direct, indirect, and contract employees, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational values and drive team engagement toward strategic goals.
  • Ensure the design teams plans align with site conditions and are practical for construction.

Compliance

  • Review construction documents and materials to make sure they match the approved designs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B. Tech & M. Tech in Structural/Geotechnical Engineering.

Years of Experience

  • 15+ years

Nature of

Experience

  • Proven track record of extensive design experience in various structures of Hydropower projects like Dams, Water Conductor Systems, Underground Works, Powerhouse etc. for at least 3 projects of which at least 1 project are big and complex in nature.

SKILLS

Technical Skills

  • Sound knowledge about the Indian & International Codes.
  • Attention to Details.
  • Familiarity with engineering design principles and proficiency in software tools (Staad Pro., AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Experience managing timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Ability to quickly address and resolve on-site issues.
  • Sound knowledge about the interface requirements.

Leadership / Behavioural Skills

  • Relationship Building.
  • Ability to interpret data to drive decisions related to design and execution.
  • The ability to break down complex issues, provide solutions and interact with approving authorities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage various stakeholders.
