What the role is
We are seeking applicants to join the Architecture & Land Planning Division to help on architectural conservation and urban design strategies for the Greater Sentosa Master Plan (GSMP) and related projects.
This will include conceptualisation & delivery of architectural conservation planning strategies and urban design policies & guidelines, and coordination with planning & technical agencies to ensure that the planning intent is in line with the broader Greater Southern Waterfront plans. Part of the role involves managing stakeholder engagements, regulatory approvals, budget unlocking, experience-driven implementation, execution of tender processes & assisting in the project management for heritage developments & infrastructure enablers required for the implementation of the masterplan vision.

Key Responsibilities
Architecture Conservation & Urban Design
- Develop Architecture & Conservation Urban Design strategies to drive masterplanning work for delightful, attractive & sensitive heritage-related developments and design excellence as part of the Greater Sentosa Master Plan (GSMP).
- Coordinate with planning & technical agencies on architectural conservation planning works for GSMP with the broader GSW as well as national planning policies.
- Plan, formulate and execute heritage research, heritage impact assessments, conservation management, adaptive reuse & urban design strategies to conserve, restore & rejuvenate built heritage elements including the Fort Siloso National Monument, the Sentosa Conservation Precinct, the Sentosa Heritage Trail and other heritage-related developments at the masterplanning, precinct & building scale for the various phases of the GSMP, including rejuvenation of Sentosa and bringing in the next game changer attraction for Pulau Brani.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of Architecture & Conservation Urban Design Guidelines for all parcels, including developmental plots, infrastructure and public realm spaces across the various character zones in the GSMP.
Integrative Design Development & Implementation
- Establish, coordinate and implement development plans taking into consideration strategic goals, appropriate development densities, attractive tourism strategies, sustainable transport, district & infrastructural enablers, sensitivity towards built & natural heritage, green & blue spaces, sustainability efforts, coastal protection efforts, placemaking strategies and phasing timelines.
- Plan & review of tenancy development and redevelopment submissions to ensure urban design consistency in line with conservation principles, taking into account experience curation, portfolio positioning and business strategy with internal business units.
- Work with internal cross-functional teams, precinct & environmental architects & planners, urban designers, infrastructure & transport engineers to ensure the integrative execution of the masterplan vision.
- Coordinate and manage phasing timelines for long time developments as well as short term activations and interim uses.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, obtaining necessary planning, technical agencies and statutory clearances, and driving execution strategies for master planning & development approvals.
- Prepare & execute tender packages and project management of consultancy and development contracts to implement the master plan and ensure urban design consistency across the various phases.
- Conduct research on emerging trends and challenges in heritage management & conservation urban design policies for urban planning, urban design and infrastructure coordination for the GSMP and related projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Architectural Conservation, Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, or related field.
- Minimum relevant 5-years experience in conservation redevelopment works, urban planning & design processes.
- Registration with Singapore’s Board of Architects (BOA), or Singapore Institute of Planners (SIP) will be preferred.
- Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, BIM, Rhino, SketchUp, Photoshop, and ArcGIS.
- Proactive and creative approach, with a passion for architectural heritage & conservation.
- Strong understanding of international preservation & conservation principles, Singapore's architectural conservation framework and conversant with local building codes & regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with experience in stakeholder management and engagement in multi-disciplinary environments.
- Strength in analytical & problem-solving abilities, project management & organisational skills.
- Strong written & verbal communication abilities.
