About the role
Duties
As a Deputy Director, you will:
- Serve as an expert on DHS and USCIS-wide electronic and non-electronic immigration records management matters.
- Lead data-driven analysis of Records Division internal operations, policies, and practices, recommendation, and design and implementation of solutions that improve customer-serving products and services, and organizational performance.
- Ensure compliance, monitoring and evaluation of records management practices and programs across multiple Department of Homeland Security (DHS) components.
- Plan and conduct evaluations or reviews of broad scope, difficulty, and complexity in unexplored records program areas of critical importance to the agency.
- Ensure execution of the organization's objectives, work plans, and work products/services in support of its priorities and goals.
Qualifications
GS-15: You qualify at the GS-15 level you must possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
- Managing a high-visibility program with nationwide impact.
- Leading the development and implementation of solutions to improve the effectiveness & efficiency of a major program or program segment and its operations.
- Leading the design, implementation & management of change initiatives.
- Communicating with senior management both verbally and in writing.
