About This Role
This position is responsible for all daily operations of barges and vessels, primarily for river operations. The role suits hard-working, motivated individuals interested in a career with great potential.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all company policies
- Follow company's safety guidelines
- Make and deliver the tow
- Check the fleet (lines, cables, hatches, and water)
- Retrieve and place lanterns
- Perform pre-operational checks
- Clean the vessel
- Perform general maintenance of pumps/hoses, wires, and lanterns
- Perform general repairs as needed
- Follow directions
- Be able to visually inspect
- Work around operating equipment
- Utilize eye/hand coordination
- Use/knowledge of hand tools
- Work well in a team environment
- Operate machinery
- Make decisions in high pressure situations, safely
Requirements
- No experience required
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Effective communication is required
- Work safely
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), required
- Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
- Must be able to successfully pass a post-offer drug test and background check
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
- Ability to push/pull as needed
- Standing, bending, step climbing, crawling and working overhead
- Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as needed

Important Details
- Locations: Benwood, WV (Ohio County Coal Resources); Moundsville, WV (Marshall County Coal Resources); Monessen, PA (then shuttled to operation stationed at)
- Schedule: 7 days a week with 12-hour shifts (6 hours on/6 hours off); must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed or as schedule requires (subject to applicant's religious practices)
