Database Administrator

About This Role

This database administrator role involves working with the Program for Innovative Registration (PVR) within the Data Team, focusing on the development of RAPP (Registrative Application Police Processes), a new application designed to simplify data capture for police officers. The role is centered on managing relational databases that store RDF data, requiring a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills, along with an understanding of database architecture and design.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, manage, and maintain databases
• Manage user rights and access to the databases
• Monitor and optimize database performance (performance tuning)
• Collaborate with the PL/SQL Developers, Performance Analyst, Data Engineer, and Data Quality Analyst within the team
• Coordinate with colleagues who manage the database platform and perform migrations
• Resolve production problems related to the database

Requirements

• HBO (bachelor) work and thinking level
• Knowledge of Oracle, backup strategies, and disaster recovery
• Experience with performance tuning, SQL, and monitoring tools
• Preferably experience working in an Agile environment with development teams
• Preferably knowledge of WLS / ElasticSearch

Important Details

• Schedule: 32/36 hours per week
• Contract: temporary appointment for a one-year probationary period, convertible to a permanent appointment upon satisfactory performance

• Team: The Data Team is expanding from six to twelve people and consists of driven and enthusiastic colleagues with diverse expertise. It is part of the Service and Management Train, which is the supporting Agile release train for management, services, data, and infrastructure.
• Work format: hybrid, with office days on Monday and Wednesday
