Database Administrator

About This Role

Undertaking the end-to-end management of databases on an ongoing basis to ensure smooth functioning is the core of this role. This position involves managing changes to database schemes, disk space, storage, and user roles, as well as monitoring and optimizing database performance.

Responsibilities

• Undertake end-to-end management of databases on an ongoing basis to ensure smooth functioning
• Undertake tasks including managing changes to database scheme, disk space, storage, and user roles
• Set and tune system parameters for administration and management of ODG, MS-SQL Log Shipping, and Replication tools between DC to DRC
• Manage BCV/Second copy server at both DC-DRC locations by mounting and testing thoroughly for respective databases
• Monitor and manage growth of infrastructure, tables, indexes, segments, partitions, etc.
• Perform database monitoring, table alteration, and index rebuilds
• Conduct table reorganization, space, and redo log management
• Update statistics, check databases, clean up logs, and schedule and monitor various standard jobs
• Build appropriate indexes, specify large enough buffers and caches, align database implementation with IT infrastructure, monitor applications, and reorganize databases
• Manage database upgrades and patch upgrades as and when required with minimum downtime
