About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated GIS & Data Specialist to join our expanding team at our Tucson, Arizona headquarters. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for geospatial data management and cartography to contribute to meaningful hydrologic projects. The successful candidate will provide essential technical support, including GIS data production, data management, analysis, and cartographic services. Additionally, the role involves supporting web-based data applications and database management within the company's custom system. The position is designed to be full-time, with potential flexibility for a reduced work week, making it ideal for professionals eager to develop their skills in a collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Academic degree in GIS, computer science, or a related discipline
- Fundamental knowledge of ESRI's ArcGIS software, including ArcGIS Pro, geoprocessing, geodatabases, and coordinate systems
- Practical understanding of data management in relational and geospatial databases
- Ability to create client-facing illustrations and renderings
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills suitable for a team-oriented environment
- Sufficient scientific understanding related to groundwater hydrology
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with mobile data collection applications such as Esri Field Maps and Survey123 is preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality, report-ready maps in ArcGIS Pro adhering to company style guidelines
- Create, manage, and update geospatial datasets, geodatabases, and relational databases
- Coordinate with project teams to understand and fulfill GIS requirements and deliverables
- Perform geospatial data analysis to support project objectives
- Assist in the management and entry of data within M&A's custom data systems
- Support mobile data collection activities using Esri applications such as Field Maps and Survey123
- Create and maintain web-based maps and applications using ArcGIS Online and customized tools
- Apply artistic judgment to select appropriate design and layout for cartographic illustrations
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success and team objectives
