About This Role
This contract role is for a Data Mapping Specialist to work with a leading Pensions and Investment Management organisation that is building a new unified data platform. The specialist will own the work of mapping and transforming data from various source systems into one place, ensuring data quality from the outset. This involves challenging data when necessary, understanding its context, and meticulously capturing all assumptions and transformation decisions.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the source-to-target mappings across multiple source systems
- Document the transformation rules behind the mappings
- Translate business requirements into clear, detailed data and technical requirements
- Work closely with the business, technical BAs, data architects, and engineers
- Monitor data quality, reconciliation, lineage, and dependencies to prevent loss or misinterpretation
Requirements
- Strong data analysis and hands-on source-to-target mapping experience
- Experience defining and documenting data transformation rules
- Able to translate business requirements into detailed data and technical requirements
- Good understanding of data quality, reconciliation, lineage, and dependencies
- Experience working with complex datasets and multiple source systems
- Comfortable working closely with business stakeholders, technical BAs, data architects, and engineers
- Real attention to detail, particularly on the accuracy and completeness of mapping and transformation rules
- Confidence to challenge when something does not look right
Nice to have:
- Experience in investment management, pensions, or a similar financial services environment
- Exposure to modern data platforms
Important Details
- Contract: 6 months
- Work format: 2 days a week in the office
