About the role

Duties

·         The primary purpose of this position is to improve agency demand planning of consumable items by providing program analysis support and facilitating collaborative planning among Air Force stakeholder organizations.

·         Plans, manages, and coordinates agency-wide initiatives in regard to standardizing and/or streamlining the process of planning of consumable items.

·         Prepares, administrates, and facilitates the collaborative planning meetings with program managers and other consumers to address anticipated customer requirements for consumable items and to gain knowledge of program planning factors that may influence requirements.

·         Uses forecast accuracy assessments to focus process improvement efforts on critical and low performing demand triggers, planning methodologies, programs or items.

·         Prepares and delivers oral presentations such as briefings, training sessions, consultations, and strategy sessions with other staff service functions and activities to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters, and convey information relative to demand planning processes for assigned projects.

Qualifications

This position is a Part-Time Job-Share position.  Hours will not exceed 64 hours bi-weekly.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-11) or equivalent.  Specialized experience must include using analysis to determine the effectiveness of established processes and procedures to facilitate improvement in the demand planning process, and planning, developing, and carrying out logistical projects and programs which are central to the mission of the agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):  Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 

1.    Knowledge of commonly applied inventory management principles, procedures, techniques and practices.

2.    Knowledge of budgeting and funding processes related to inventory management functions.

3.    Ability to apply new theories, concepts, and/or developments to demand problems not correctable by current methods, techniques, or procedures.

4.    Advanced knowledge of specialized analytical methods and techniques to resolve difficult demand planning issues and problems.

5.    Knowledge of forecasting methods and forecast error determination

6.    Knowledge of forecast modeling, Supply Chain, and Supply Chain Planning.

7.    Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE**:** Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.  You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. 

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE:  Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).  Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.  You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
