About the role

Position Summary The Salvation Army Northern Division Anoka 360 Life Center is “Doing the Most Good” by providing holistic, person-centered services for individuals and families in need. These services include food, clothing, utility, rent, and housing support, short- and long-term case management, spiritual support, and connections to community partners.

The FHPAP Data Entry Assistant is responsible for accurate data entry of Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program (FHPAP) into The Salvation Army Information Management System (SIMS) and The Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).

The position is time-limited with a duration up to six (6) months.

$17 per hour, 16 hours a week from Monday through Friday, about 5-month duration for the temporary position.

Essential Functions (approximate Time Spent)

  • Data Entry (50%): Accurately and efficiently enter information into the SIMS and HMIS database.
  • Data Verification (20%): Verify the accuracy of data in SIMS and HMIS.
  • Inquiry Response (15%): Respond to inquiries regarding entered data.
  • Document Management (5%): Maintain and secure received data and source documents, filing or routing source documents after entry.
  • Database Support (5%): Support the maintenance and integrity of the SIMS and HMIS database.
  • Technical Support Coordination (5%): Contact the SIMS and HMIS help desks to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.

Education And Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with a management information system, preferred.
  • Must pass background checks, possess a valid driver’s license, and meet MVR requirements.

  • Demonstrated computer/internet literacy and typing accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and complete moderately complex instructions.
  • Flexible interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of honor in dealing with confidential information.
  • Works with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence.

Working Conditions

  • Mostly sedentary work, sitting for long periods and working on a computer.
  • Professional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
  • Must communicate clearly with colleagues and participants.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally.
  • Standard business hours.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None.

Requirements Travel/Driving Requirements

  • Infrequent travel by agency or personal vehicle throughout the metro area to support the mission.
