Data Engineer

Designing and building the data infrastructure that supports analytics and decision-making processes is the core of this engineering role. Responsibilities

• Design and build the data infrastructure that supports our analytics and decision-making processes
• Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines across various sources (databases, APIs, flat files)
• Transform raw data into structured formats for use by analysts, BI tools, and data scientists
• Design data models and optimize performance in data lakes, data warehouses, and cloud environments
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and availability through automated monitoring and validation
• Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver fit-for-purpose datasets
• Apply best practices in data validation, metadata management, and governance
• Support data visualization and reporting efforts using tools like Power BI or Tableau
• Identify opportunities to improve data processes, enhance performance, and deliver greater value to stakeholders

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in a data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence role
• Strong experience in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, DataStage, Apache Airflow, or similar
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python or R)
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Fabric or Databricks) and modern data warehouse technologies (e.g., Fabric, Synapse, Snowflake, BigQuery)
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data lakes, and warehousing principles
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability
• A proactive mindset and a passion for continuous improvement in data architecture and processes

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines for data workflows
