About the role
Location: Thailand, Indonesia
We are representing a multinational data center platform developing and operating large-scale, next-generation campus developments across Asia. The Design Manager will lead and oversee the end-to-end design process for data centre projects, ensuring compliance with design standards, applicable local statutory codes and regulations, and project-specific requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer expert guidance and in-depth technical knowledge for each system (e.g., power, cooling, network infrastructure, structural) to ensure designs reliability
- Lead cross-functional SMEs (electrical, mechanical, civil and architectural) to drive outcome, fostering accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence
- Manage design submittals during construction phases in coordination with project managers, architects, civil engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and other relevant disciplines to seamlessly integrate data center designs into overarching project master plans.
- Ensure adherence to international and local building codes, zoning requirements, and statutory approvals
Key Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Architecture), or a related technical field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center design or critical infrastructure systems
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Proven experience in managing design phases of complex, multi-disciplinary projects from conceptualization through to construction documentation and handover
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement across diverse cultural contexts
- Familiarity with sustainability practices in data center design is an advantage
