About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our Information Technology team. The Data Architect will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of the enterprise data architecture, translating strategic business and data needs into scalable, governed, and high-performing data platforms and solutions. This role involves developing data models, pipelines, and integration patterns that support analytics, reporting, and operational activities. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with business and IT stakeholders to ensure data is trustworthy, accessible, and aligned with enterprise standards, while also driving modernization initiatives and continuous enhancement of data capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or data platform design
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Fabric, Databricks, etc.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration techniques
- Experience aligning data architecture with business and analytics requirements
- Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams including business, architecture, and engineering
- Proficiency in Microsoft data tools and technologies (SQL, SSIS, TSQL)
- Experience with Azure SQL Databases, Azure Blob storage, and Azure App Services
- Knowledge of Data Modeling tools such as Idera ERStudio and Data Warehouse Design
- Understanding of Data Analytics concepts and BI tools such as Power BI
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- SAFe Agile Delivery experience is highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Translate enterprise data strategy into architecture, platforms, and implementation roadmaps aligned with business needs
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and define end-to-end data architecture solutions
- Establish and govern enterprise data architecture standards including data models, pipelines, and integration patterns
- Design and build scalable data platforms such as data lakes, warehouses, and cloud solutions to support analytics and reporting
- Enforce data modeling standards, including logical, physical, and dimensional models across systems and domains
- Design and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes (ETL/ELT) for reliable data movement
- Ensure data architecture supports data quality, lineage, metadata management, and governance frameworks
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to define architecture enablers and guide solution design
- Work with data engineering and Agile teams to implement architecture effectively across delivery cycles
- Lead evaluation and selection of data technologies, tools, and platforms, including proof-of-concept initiatives
- Develop and maintain data architecture roadmaps focused on modernization, consolidation, and performance optimization
- Drive modernization efforts of legacy data and reporting platforms to enhance scalability and usability
- Align data architecture with application and infrastructure architecture to ensure seamless integration
- Participate in Agile/PI planning to align teams with technical standards and strategic goals
- Mentor teams and promote best practices in data architecture and engineering
