Cybersecurity Analyst

About This Role

Investigating and remediating threats across hundreds of customer environments is the core of this cybersecurity analyst role. You will own the security configuration of the systems you’re responsible for and help build the playbooks the team runs on, working alongside senior engineers and making decisions and talking directly with customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead security incident response from detection through containment, remediation and close-out
• Investigate suspicious sign-ins, malware detections, phishing campaigns and firewall events, and determine root cause
• Own security configuration on customer firewalls, endpoints and cloud identity platforms
• Write and tune detection rules to cut alert noise and catch real threats
• Build and maintain runbooks so the team handles common incidents consistently
• Audit customer environments to confirm security tools are deployed, licensed and reporting
• Review and mentor junior analysts’ investigations and documentation
• Explain incidents and remediation plans clearly to customers, technical and non-technical alike
• Support security awareness and phishing simulation programs

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, a SOC or NOC, or IT support with security responsibilities
• Solid understanding of Windows, Active Directory and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewall rules and NAT)
• Hands-on experience investigating security alerts and remediating incidents
• CompTIA Security+ or CySA+, or the ability to earn one within six months
• Strong written communication; your incident notes will be read by customers and leadership
• Sound judgment about when to act and when to escalate
• Valid driver’s license

Nice to have:

• Experience at a managed services provider supporting multiple customer environments
• Experience with endpoint detection and response, SIEM or log analysis, and cloud email and identity security
• Firewall administration experience
• Scripting or automation (PowerShell or Python)
• Degree in cybersecurity, IT or a related field, or progress toward CISSP, CCNA or a similar certification
