Cyber Security Engineer, Cloud Security Specialist

About This Role

This client-facing Cyber Security Engineer role focuses on cloud security, embedding within client teams to deliver robust protection across multi-cloud environments including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The position requires hands-on technical expertise, strategic thinking, and collaboration with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to integrate security principles into cloud-native architectures, with a working knowledge of Secure Architecture concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support projects or workstreams within larger programs, consulting with Partners, Directors, and Senior Managers where appropriate
• Plan and shape the delivery of engagements, including work plans, timelines, project management, and resource allocations
• Provide input on security operations capabilities and services
• Build and manage relationships with clients on a daily basis

Requirements

• Technical background, willingness to learn, and experience within an operationally focused engineering function
• Experience bringing a technology perspective to a broad range of client issues, demonstrating how technology can be used to address problems and realise opportunities
• Strong understanding of cloud networking and architecture principles, Identity and access management models, security monitoring, and SIEM integration
• Proven hands-on experience of at least two cloud environments including AWS, Microsoft Azure, VMware Cloud Foundation, and Google Cloud
• Experience securing multi-cloud or hybrid environments, including greenfield and legacy platforms
• Eligible for Security Clearance

Nice to have:

• Managing teams, including the ability to structure complex projects
• Clear record of achievement and progression in a consulting firm or in a comparable environment within industry
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications
• Consulting experience within a 'Big 4' consultancy, or mid-tier firm
• Working knowledge of Secure By Design Requirements

Important Details

• Work format: largely based within the Southwest of England and Manchester, with an expectation that the successful candidate will be able to work from client sites three or more days a week
