Customs Declarant

About the role

As a Customs Declarant, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant customs processes for import, export, and transit activities. You will work with detailed documentation, digital declaration systems, and various internal and external partners. This role is essential in supporting smooth supply chain operations and maintaining full compliance with EU and national customs regulations.

NB* You must hold a recognised EU Diploma Declarant. Applications without this diploma will not be considered.

How You Will Contribute

• Preparing and submitting complete electronic import, export, and transit declarations.
• Reviewing shipping and commercial documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Setting up and maintaining item data in WMS/CRF and DMS systems for bonded warehouse administration.
• Monitoring the status of transit documents and export confirmations to ensure timely clearance.
• Completing and filing customs documentation to support audits and internal/external compliance checks.
• Supporting the preparation of monthly periodic declarations and following up on outstanding or delayed clearances.
• Identifying operational risks, correcting data issues early, and contributing to process improvements.
• Collaborating with customs authorities, auditors, forwarders, and internal departments as needed.

What You Will Bring

• A diploma or certification as a Customs Declarant
• 3-5 years of knowledge of EU and national customs legislation, including valuation, classification, and bonded warehouse procedures & experience with customs systems (e.g., DMS, WMS/CRF) and digital documentation workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with structured information.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is welcome but not required.
• You’ll work on-site four days a week, with the flexibility to work from home one day per week. Availability for shift based work (rotation based at least once per month)
