Customer Engineer, Platform, SAISV, Cloud

About This Role

This customer engineering role focuses on the Google Cloud Platform, specifically for Strategic AI and Independent Software Vendor (SAISV) clients. The engineer will combine sales, programming, and solutions architecture knowledge to demonstrate the value of Google Cloud products, architect cross-pillar solutions, and drive technical wins. The role involves leading technical engagements, facilitating post-sales transitions, and supporting cross-functional teams during various implementation phases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the technical account plan and strategy
• Participate in planning and supporting focused sales motions
• Combine sales, programming, and solutions architecture knowledge to prove the value of Google Cloud Platform across the portfolio through demos, pilots, and workshops
• Architect cross-pillar solutions, drive technical wins, and define initial delivery plans for customers
• Lead the technical engagement in the solution phase
• Facilitate the post-sales transition by supporting pricing activities and transitioning the final delivery plan to implementation teams
• Maintain awareness of progress against the delivery plan
• Provide support to cross-functional teams during ramp, delivery, migration, or implementation phases
• Partner with technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to customers
• Serve as the customer’s primary technical partner and trusted advisor
• Engage in technical-led conversations to understand business challenges
• Troubleshoot technical questions and roadblocks
• Engage in proofs-of-concepts and demos
• Use knowledge to architect cross-pillar cloud solutions that solve business challenges
• Drive the technical win and define the delivery and consumption plans
• Engage with technical and business leaders, and present solutions on Google Cloud
• Identify and win new business workloads to drive engagement as a technical generalist, spanning infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data analytics and more
• Blend sales prowess, market knowledge and technical engagement to prove the value of the Google Cloud portfolio

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
• Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms
• Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders

Nice to have:

• Experience in migrating applications and services to cloud platforms
• Experience with security concepts such as encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, and pen-testing
• Experience selling technical solutions in one or more of the following: infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data management, data analytics, cloud AI, networking, migrations, security
• Experience building long-term technical strategies to uncover new workloads with customers
• Experience driving the entire business cycle (e.g., defining the delivery and consumption plan and transitioning it for execution)
