About the role
Position Overview: The CT Technologist is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality imaging services and providing a supportive patient experience at a hospital. They are vital members of a collaborative care team, applying their technical expertise to perform CT procedures, ensure patient safety, and maintain equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans following department protocols, capturing diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Operate imaging equipment independently, adjusting techniques as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment and workspaces.
- Obtain patient history, verify orders, and explain procedures to reduce anxiety using AIDET.
- Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout exams.
- Administer contrast agents, position patients correctly, and apply shielding and immobilization techniques.
- Review images for quality, repeat or correct as necessary, and finalize studies in RIS/PACS.
- Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and support infection control and safety protocols.
- Coordinate daily workflows, support department operations, and document procedures accurately.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Minimum of 1 year radiology experience.
- Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS.
