Role Overview: The CT Technologist applies their expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience. They work independently to operate imaging equipment, ensuring diagnostic quality while minimizing radiation exposure. The role involves patient preparation, explanation of procedures, maintaining safety and privacy, and administering contrast agents when necessary. Technologists review and finalize images, document procedures accurately, and support department workflows to meet operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT procedures following departmental guidelines.
- Operate imaging equipment safely and adjust techniques as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and report equipment issues.
- Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and ensure patient identification.
- Communicate procedures clearly, address patient questions, and promote comfort.
- Position patients correctly and apply safety measures.
- Review images for diagnostic quality and retake if necessary.
- Complete accurate documentation and ensure proper image finalization.
- Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and support safety protocols.
- Organize workflows, support operational efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Minimum of 1 year radiology experience.
- Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), BLS (Basic Life Support).
