About the role
Role Overview: The CT Technologist applies expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience at a healthcare facility. They are vital members of a collaborative care team, performing CT procedures according to departmental guidelines.
Responsibilities Include
- Operating imaging equipment independently while ensuring diagnostic quality and safety, including dose management.
- Preparing and maintaining equipment and rooms per infection control protocols.
- Gathering clinical history, verifying orders, and ensuring patient identification.
- Explaining procedures, addressing patient concerns, and ensuring comfort and safety using AIDET.
- Administering contrast agents, positioning patients, and applying shielding as needed.
- Reviewing images for diagnostic acceptability, repeating scans if necessary, and documenting results accurately.
- Monitoring patient conditions, responding to emergencies, and maintaining equipment and supplies.
- Supporting departmental workflows, adhering to regulatory standards, and collaborating with team members.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Minimum 1 year radiology experience.
- Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS (Basic Life Support).
Skills & Attributes: Technical proficiency in CT procedures, strong patient communication, attention to safety and infection control, teamwork, and adherence to protocols are essential.
