The CT Technologist plays a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality imaging and providing a supportive patient experience at a hospital setting. They operate imaging equipment independently, capture diagnostic images, and adjust techniques to ensure optimal results while minimizing radiation exposure. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, preparing patients, obtaining clinical history, explaining procedures, ensuring patient comfort, administering contrast, positioning patients, reviewing images, and documenting accurately in RIS/PACS systems. They respond to emergencies, support departmental workflows, and uphold infection control and regulatory standards.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, at least one year of radiology experience, and certifications such as ARRT-R, ARRT-CT, and BLS.
