Role Overview: The CT Technologist applies expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience in a collaborative care environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT procedures following department guidelines, capturing diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA).
- Operate imaging equipment independently, ensuring patient comfort, privacy, and safety.
- Maintain equipment and workspaces, report issues promptly, and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and ensure proper patient identification.
- Explain procedures clearly, address patient questions, and reduce anxiety using AIDET communication.
- Administer contrast agents via venipuncture using sterile techniques and position patients accurately.
- Review images, repeat or adjust as needed, and finalize studies in RIS/PACS systems.
- Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and assist with maintaining life-support equipment.
- Organize workflows, support department operations, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent, plus completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- At least 1 year of radiology experience.
- Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS (Basic Life Support).
